Machiavelli is a one-of-a-kind alpaca throw handmade by San Patrignano’s weaving team specially for C&C Milano. San Patrignano is a community, founded in 1978, that offers people with drug addiction the opportunity to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society by teaching them high skilled artisanal jobs. The weaving workshop operates daily and is formed by 40 young ladies working on manual wooden looms to create bespoke accessories and fabrics using the highest quality yarns. C&C Milano joined this extraordinary initiative to support the people involved and create unique blankets and throws from cashmere and wool. Machiavelli with its loose woven net structure has a modern and sharp allure, a unique openwork surface enhanced by the smooth and soft hand of Alpaca yarn. Machiavelli is both rustic and sophisticated due to its unique texture.
Machiavelli is available in one size: 140cm x 200 cm with 2.5cm fringes on the width.
Alpaca fleece is a natural fibre like sheep’s wool, harvested from alpacas raised in South America in the Andean regions of Perù, Bolivia and Chile. Alpaca wool is extremely strong and resistant, with great insulating properties (almost seven times more than sheep wool), does not contain lanolin so is naturally non-allergic. Alpaca fibres are extremely silky and shimmering, light and thin, very similar to the cashmere ones. Alpaca comes in 22 natural shades. The estimated annual production per animal is around 2,5 kg for females and almost 4 kg for males.
