Summer Home in Mani by LOCI Architects
Founded by Jamie Anderson, LOCI Architects is an architecture and design studio based in Athens and Mani (South Peloponnese) specialising in houses of a traditional and rustic character. Jamie Anderson is a senior architect, responsible for the architectural and interior details and Stephany Tzanoudaki is an interior designer, specialising in interior styling and the selection of colours, fabrics and textures. LOCI Architects was commissioned to renovate a traditional stone house in a village in the region of Mani (South Peloponnese) used mainly as a summer home. The main inspiration for the design of the interior spaces were the traditional architecture of the area of Mani, the colours of the olive groves and the need to create an aesthetic that brings the traditional and rustic materials close to modern and simple lines. The interior was very much based on customised design and built furniture, the selection of white together with sage green is unique when combined with materials such as wood and marble.
"Palea Rigato and Palea Unito from C&C Milano fabrics perfectly fit the atmosphere adding a rich but also rustic texture to the interiors, applied in large size cushions used for the sofa and the built bench. Aquamarine was also a perfect colour matching the colour of the shutters and the surrounding nature. As our aim was to create an overall identity where the materials, textures and colours of the area work harmoniously together, C&C Milano was a perfect choice"
